Electrical Design

Electrical design for commercial, industrial and residential development schemes, developed around the building, the specification and the construction programme.

Electrical Design from Bolt Group

Bolt Group designs the electrical installation for projects it goes on to install, so the drawings are produced by the same team that will build from them. That keeps the design practical to install and keeps the programme realistic from the start.

Design work covers distribution, sub-mains, small power, lighting and emergency lighting, containment routes and the life safety systems the building needs, including fire alarm and sprinkler controls. At Millhouse in Anfield the team carried out the full electrical design and installation for nine apartments.

Where a scheme already has a consultant design, Bolt Group works to that design and raises any buildability or coordination points before installation starts.

What the service covers

  • Distribution and sub-main design
  • Small power and lighting layouts
  • Emergency lighting and fire alarm design
  • Containment routes coordinated with other services
  • Design and build packages for residential schemes

Frequently asked questions

Do you take on design and build packages?

Yes. Bolt Group carries out design and installation as a single package, as it did for the nine apartments at Millhouse in Anfield. The same team produces the design and installs from it.

Can you work to a consultant design?

Yes. On many commercial projects the design is supplied by a consultant. Bolt Group installs to that design and raises any coordination or buildability points early, before they affect the programme.

Which systems do you design?

Distribution and sub-mains, small power, lighting and emergency lighting, containment, fire alarm systems and sprinkler controls. Other systems such as EV charging and door entry are designed as part of the wider installation where the project requires them.
